I had a lot of fun making this single needle snake and rose for Amanda. Snakes are one of my favorite subjects to tattoo and they are perfect for single needle. Figuring out a good flow and shading all of the scales is a some of the most fun I can have tattooing. Single needle designs are a great option if you want fine detail and soft shading with out making a large tattoo, and also offer a very refined look not always possible in other styles.

Single needle cowboy on horseback tattoo

Single needle tattooing is one my favorite styles to work in. Making this single needle cowboy on horse back for Maxwell at the Eagle Rock shop was a lot of fun and an enjoyable technical challenge. This design took approximately 6 hours to complete and is around four inches tall, it was done in one sitting.
